eBay Auctions
Posted on August 17th, 2010 by Jessica | Posted in auctions | No Comments »

News around Tyson is rather slow as of late so I was bored, looking through eBay auctions. If you’re interested in owning a hand signed autograph you have two options. One is reasonably priced and the other is, well – rather expensive.

The first auction is brought to you by Creation Entertainment which hosts the Official Twilight Conventions! It’s a real legit autograph as they get them all done in person at various conventions!

>> Creation’s Tyson Signed 8×10 Photo <<

The other is an Eclipse trading card which is priced at $148.90 (American dollars) – rather pricey! And things are hard to believe on eBay, if they’re real or not.

>> Eclipse Autograph Trading Card <<

^ Marissa says that signature doesn’t look like his so be careful! (She compared it to her multiple autographs from meeting him!)

There are a few other options – but if autographs are going for only $10 it always makes me iffy! Be careful about what you purchase, they’re not always real! But I would definitely trust Creation’s autograph, if you’re in the market for his autograph! (Though its always better to get these things in person yourself!)

Older Interviews

Since Tyson Houseman Online just opened up I figured we should catch up and post some interviews that were done with Tyson before or around when “Eclipse” was released!

The Baltimore Examiner (this one is my favourite but just because its based out of Baltimore…right down the street!)

Q:  So even though your character was introduced in New Moon, you really didn’t get to jump into the action until Eclipse.  Did you kind of feel a little bit like Quil – that you were left out of the fun? And was it worth the wait getting to participate more in Eclipse?

Tyson:  Yeah, there were actually a lot of similarities between me and the character.  In New Moon, like you said, I only had like one day of shooting on set, and so every time I would see the other wolf guys they would always talk about all the fun times they were having on set, and stuff like that.  And I kinda felt like I was missing out on that.  And so I was really excited for Eclipse when we started that one.   I was a wolf and a member of the wolf pack.  So I got to hang out with the guys again and do all the stuff with them and that was really similar to what the character Quil was doing, too.

Q:  You really didn’t have to do the whole bulk up fitness routine, and I was just wondering how challenging it was for you to catch up with the rest of the cast members in the fitness regimen for the film?

Tyson:  Well, it wasn’t that hard for me, because even though I wasn’t actually a wolf in New Moon, they still put me in the wolf pack training.  So I was used to all the grueling work outs with the guys, and I kind of made it a goal for myself that by the time Eclipse started filming, that I was gonna get into really good physical shape so that I could keep up with the other guys and I think I did that pretty well.

Q: We heard about a lot of the male bonding that went on before New Moon.  Did you guys get together and do some fun stuff during the filming of Eclipse?

Tyson:  Yeah, we had to do another series of workouts together before the film just to stay fit, and that was really fun.  It was a great way for us to bond together.  We went through a lot of pain together, and we always went to (dinner) after something like that.  So it was a really great time.  It was really good having friends on the set.

This next interview was from June, the day before the release of “Eclipse”:

For starters, in “Eclipse” your character will be changing into a wolf for the first time, what was that experience like for you? Was that something you had been looking forward to since “New Moon” and have you seen how the effect looks on screen yet?

Tyson Houseman: It’s true yeah. Well they actually did show me what my specific werewolf looks like in full CG wolf form and it was really cool. It looked really cool and I’m excited to see it on the big screen. It really helped seeing the images of the wolf because it gave me an idea of what I was really working with because before that I didn’t really have anything to work off of. I knew I was a werewolf but what does that really mean? So to have the imagery to help define it really helped out. It looked way cooler than the one I had in my mind.

Your character gets to “imprint” for the first time in this film, can you tell us about that scene and what it was like to shoot?

Tyson Houseman: Yeah that’s a pretty important part for my character. I’ve actually gotten made fun of so much because my character imprints on a two-year old. At first it seems a little bit creepy but in the film they actually do a really good job of explaining the whole idea that it’s like you don’t have a choice and it’s like love at first sight. It doesn’t have to be a romantic thing if there’s like an age gap or something like that. So I think the way they explain it in the film they really do it justice. They really tell it really well.

Another interview from Moviefone (gotta love Google Alerts for alerting me of these interviews!!):

How did you get into acting?

I really kind of stumbled into it. Before ‘New Moon’, the only thing I had really done was just high school plays and stuff like that, and really just small parts. A year out of high school I decided to move to Vancouver. After living in Vancouver for about four months, I found the audition for ‘New Moon’ on Craigslist. There was an open casting call, so I went down and gave it a shot. I didn’t expect to get anything out of it. I was really casual, and I think that’s what gave me a bit of an edge. I got a call back, and a week later they called me in and said that I had the part.

So why did you decide to respond to the casting call? Are you a fan of ‘Twilight’?

Not really. I didn’t really know that much about the whole ‘Twilight phenomenon’. I hadn’t read the books or seen the movie. I knew of it, but I didn’t know that it had such a huge fan following. I think the first glimpse of that I had was when I went down to the open casting call. I got there an hour early, and there was already a line up like six blocks long. It was pretty crazy.

Marissa Meets Tyson
Posted on July 22nd, 2010 by Jessica | Posted in Fan Experience, Tyson Houseman | No Comments »

A good friend of mine and a staff member here at the site got the opportunity to meet Tyson this past weekend (July 17 & 18) at the London Comic Con. This was her second time meeting him but just as memorable as the first. Here is her write up of both days (along with pictures!)

So this is my attempt at reporting everything Tyson-related from my weekend. I must apologise in advance that I didn’t get the chance to fully take advantage of the situation seeing as everytime I was within an immediate radius of him, I fell to pieces. Damn my fragile shot-to-hell nerves! To sum up the whole weekend, I spent a fricking fortune but I don’t regret a single penny – Tyson was so amazingly sweet despite being jet-lagged. For someone who has done constant press since Eclipse came out, he’s still fantastic with fans – especially silly fans who can’t form coherent sentences around him (ahem!)

Anyways, the weekend began with me almost missing my coach to London. Not good – it’s not fun to run for it while the mean driver revs the engine to make you run faster *grumbles* I was hoping that just because the weekend started evil, it wasn’t going to continue as such.

I got to the venue with minutes to spare for Tyson’s Saturday photo shoot so I checked my bags in and rushed to the bathroom to make sure I didn’t look like I had been dragged through a hedge backwards. Lining up for the photos made my stomach do the Time warp – I was so nervous and I hadn’t even seen him yet. It was ridiculous! When I got to the front of the line, the guy asked me if all three of my photo shoot vouchers were for Tyson. I nodded meekly. He goes: ‘Wow, you must really like him then huh?’ Which part gave it away bright spark? The fact that I had three vouchers or the fact I was about to pass out  So here it was…went in to see Tyson who smiled at me and greeted me kindly. I think I managed to say hello too but at this point I was on auto-pilot for a sense of self-preservation. I asked if I could hug him which he was perfectly fine with.

We will be adding these pictures to the gallery (once that is up & running) as well as this to the “Fan Experience” section of our site. If YOU have met Tyson Houseman and want to share your amazing story of the encounter, please email me a write up and any pictures you would want to include!
